This quilt incorporates a wide range of indigo shades dyed on linen and cotton fabric. The range of indigo shades was achieved through dipping the fabrics in the indigo vat more or less times, using different vats, as well as over dyeing or under-dyeing the indigo with other natural dyes. The back of the quilt is constructed with larger pieces of the fabric used to make the stars. This quilt is hand stitched in a big stitch style, with a mix of naturally dyed and commercially dyed Sashiko thread. The quilt top and back are machine pieced. The batting is wool. The binding is hand stitched on. The dimensions of the quilt are 55”x 66”.
